On Wednesday, July 22, trades in USA have come to the end with decrease. A selloff in technology stocks following disappointing results from Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. as well as continued slide in oil prices pushed the broader U.S. markets into losses. Apple said on Tuesday it sold 47.5 million iPhones in the third quarter, up 35% from a year ago. But some analysts had expected around 49 million. It also forecast fourth-quarter revenue of $49 billion to $51 billion, missing analysts' average estimate of $51.13 billion. Existing homes were sold at the fastest pace in eight years last month and the median sales price reached an all-time record high. Sales increased 3.2% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.49 million in June. Economists had forecast that homes sold at a 5.4 million annual rate, according to the median estimate. On the day’s result, index Dow Jones has declined by 0.38%, S&P has lowered by 0.24%, Nasdaq has decreased by 0.70%.
European stock exchanges closed with decrease of main indexes, led lower by technology stocks after Apple Inc's revenue forecast fell short of estimates. On the day’s result, British FTSE has declined by 1.50%, DAX (Germany) has lowered by 0.72%, CAC 40 (France) has decreased by 0.47%.
Augusts’ contractual price on Brent oil, decreased by $0.91 to $56.13 per barrel.
In Ukraine
Trades on the Ukrainian stock exchange opened on neutral territory, day passed with negative dynamics. Value of the UX index has declined by 0.71% to 970.34. Share trades capacity on the application market was equal to UAH 1.9 million. Trades capacity on the derivatives market was equal to UAH 12.2 million. Total trades capacity for yesterday — UAH 27.2 million.
From ten shares of an index basket, eight retreated. Better than market looked shares of Motor Sich (+0.46%). Worse than market looked shares of Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant (-2.44%), Avdiivka Coke Plant (-2.35%) and Azovstal Iron and Steel Works (-2.24%).
PJSC Ukrnafta will pay no less than 99.9% of net profit for 2014 in dividends. As reported, in 2014 PJSC Ukrnafta made net profit of UAH 4.495 billion. Pretax profit amounted to UAH 5.481 billion, and profit tax amounted to UAH 986.6 million.
