Kyiv-listed stocks ended mixed on Thursday (Aug 20) amid a dry
domestic news flow over the day. The UX index ticked down 0.1% to close at 975
points. UkrNafta (UNAF) continued to slide southward on this week’s notable drop
in global oil prices, edging lower by 0.6% to finish at a 2-month low of UAH
256. Electricity generators CentrEnergo (CEEN) and DonbasEnergo (DOEN) saw
marginal gains of 0.3% and 0.6% respectively, with the former closing at UAH
7.20. On the interbank currency market, the hryvnia strengthened by 20 kopeck;
bid/ask quotes ended at 21.90/22.07 UAH/USD. London-listed Ferrexpo (FXPO) gave
up its gains from recent days, sliding back 7.0% to GBp 65, while MHP (MHPC) was
unchanged at USD 9.40. In Warsaw, Astarta (AST) and Kernel (KER) slipped by 1.8%
and 0.6%, following the downward trend on European stock
markets.
