Trading volume on the Ukrainian Exchange exceeds 6 million UAH

On April 17, 2009 a record trading volume and number of trades in securities was registered on the Ukrainian Exchange.

During the day-time trading session on April 17, 2009 market participants made 249 trades to the value of 6 067 859 UAH, which is an absolute record of trading volume on the Ukrainian Exchange.

Currently, there are 77 securities of Ukranian companies traded on the exchange. Market participants execute more than 150 trades daily.

"In less than a month since the launch of trading, the new market has seized a considerable share of the exchange trading in Ukraine. The trading activity is considerably high for Ukraine which is reflected in the number of trades and trading volume. This proves that more Ukrainian stock market participants give preference to advanced exchange trading technologies, transparency, simple settlement systems and the convenience of DMA trading", says Oleg Tkachenko, CEO, the Ukrainian Exchange.
