The number of trades reached 100 thousand

On November 17, 2009 LLC TROIKA DIALOG UKRAINE and JSC IC ''Prospect Investments'' concluded the 100,000th trade on the Ukrainian Stock Exchange.

"The 100,000th trade is a momentous event that marks another step in the internet trading and development of the whole Ukrainian stock market, says Ruslan Magomedov, Director of Internet trading Department at JSC IC ''Prospect Investments''. – We were one of the first companies to trade on the Ukrainian Exchange and it is especially pleasant to have become party to the 100,000th trade by a twist of fate". One must mention that it was only 8 months between the first trade made on March 26 and the 100,000th trade. This proves that the right strategy of developing the exchange was chosen, which gives hope that the rate of growth will remain constant. The next step in developing internet trading in Ukraine is introducing and actively using mechanical trading systems (MTS). If there are at least 10 active mechanical trading systems among market participants on the Ukrainian Exchange, then we will soon be celebrating the 1,000,000-th trade concluded on the exchange. The Russian experience proves that a single MTS can conclude up to 1500 trades a day".

"Every day there are more than 1300 trades concluded and the average daily volumes reach 30 mln hryvnias, says Oleg Tkachenko, the Ukrainian Exchange CEO. – Several new records have been made recently on the Ukrainian Exchange: a trading volume reached 60 mln hryvnias and a number of trades stood at 2344. The last indicator is an absolute record not only for our exchange but for the whole Ukrainian market.

JSC "Ukrainian Exchange" went live on March 26, 2009 and has been strengthening its technology leadership  in launching order-driven trading, Internet trading, online index calculation and repo quotations.

For the first six months of trading 1300 individual investors were connected to the Ukrainian Exchange gaining access to more than 142 top liquid stocks and bonds.
