Ukrainian Exchange launches futures contract on EUR/USD
On February 25, 2015 Ukrainian Exchange launches futures contract on EUR/USD exchange rate. This decision was taken by the Exchange Board of Ukrainian Exchange on February 19, 2015, after the approval of NSSMC (National Stock and Securities Market Commission).
"The year 2015 have began with the launch of new contracts on the Ukrainian Exchange, and we are pleased again to offer new instrument to the market participants," - said Oleg Tkachenko, CEO of the Ukrainian Exchange.
"The EUR/USD is the most liquid FX pair. The demand on this futures contract is great. In the first place, it will be interesting to speculators, those who want to make money on the FX, but beware of Forex companies - said Michael Suschek, the director of Master Brock. - "Investing is a risk and this contract will be more acceptable for many because it has one indisputable advantage - this is on-exchange instrument, which is under legislative of Ukraine and for many it will be a decisive factor in choosing a place for trading."
Futures on EUR/USD exchange rate is used the euro exchange rate defined by the European Central Bank (European Central Bank) and published at http://www.ecb.int/ on the expiration day of the contract. The Variable Margin shall be taken as a weighted average USD/UAH exchange rate published by National Bank of Ukraine, which is determined on the basis of Interbank Market Data as of 4pm at the date of Variable Margin calculation.
Futures contracts will be admitted with expiration date on March 16, 2015.
